Donegal blues prodigy Muireann Bradley has announced the release of her latest EP, Blackwood Pew, which will be issued on 23rd October 2026 via Fontana Records/Verve Forecast. Bringing together three brand new original songs, including recently released single Not Going Back, as well as fresh reworkings of classic material, Blackwood Pew marks Bradley’s arrival as a songwriter as well as an interpreter. Blackwood Pew is released alongside the physical double EP, Rose Dogs & Blackwood Pew, that pairs the new collection with all five tracks from her 2025 EP, Rose Dogs.
The EP takes its name from the guitar at the heart of every recording. Handcrafted from Australian Blackwood reclaimed from a 200-year-old church pew in Tasmania, it was gifted to her by a fan who, having seen her perform, was inspired to build her a custom instrument. Bradley has sold out headline gigs on both sides of the Atlantic, and last month was handpicked by Fontaines D.C.’s Tom Coll and folk collective Broadside Hacks to top the sold-out bill at Féile Moth, an Irish cultural festival at London’s Moth Club.

To accompany the announcement, Muireann is sharing her individual take on Daniel Johnston’s True Love Will Find You In The End. About the track, Bradley says: “I decided to record a cover of Daniel Johnston’s True Love Will Find You in the End because I was fascinated by the song and Daniel’s story after discovering him. Daniel’s recording of the song is deeply emotional and sincere, but it also has that childlike purity and naivety, lyrically and musically, that all his music has. I was interested to see if I could add a little more structure and complexity to the arrangement without losing the simplicity that’s at the heart of why the song works.”
