Well that’s a wrap from us for this year dear readers. Thanks so much for all your support for the site which we still manage to scrape along on a shoestring budget, but it happens firstly because of the generosity of all our writers across the UK and beyond who give their time freely to make this happen each day, and secondly because you keep logging on as it were. We’re enormously grateful for the support of each and every one of you – so thank you sincerely – from all of us here, wishing you a great Christmas and all the best for 2020 (My year wasn’t the greatest being honest for various reasons so here’s to a better one!)
A special thank you today to Jeremy Searle who has written for AUK for the last seventeen years (17!) – I was of course just coming out of kindergarten at the time. Jeremy was AUK’s Deputy Editor at one point, and most recently brought you your daily dose of video. He’s been an enormous asset to the site and has contributed literally thousands of pieces to the site over the years. We’ll miss you Jeremy – all the best with wherever your writing takes you next.
We’ll be back hungover and breaking the new year resolutions we made the day before on January 2nd. Until then, we’re leaving you with this beautifully understated festive tune (clue – it’s not Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree) just out from two of the finest americana acts around today, Josh Ritter & The Milk Carton Kids on ‘The Gospel of Mary’. Have a good one. Mark Whitfield, Editor.
PS – do say hello in the comments thread below if you fancy exchanging any festive greetings!
Best wishes to all the team at AUK Towers – keep up the good work and well done the Delines
Many thanks William, all the best x
Thanks to you, Mark and all the AUK for another sparkling year of music news, reviews, features and all round fun. Where would we be without you, day in, day out?
All bests wishes for Christmas and 2020.
Many thanks Mike, all the best to you too x
Happy Christmas to all at Americana UK, and thanks so much for all your hard work. Not a day goes past without reading your reviews. You’ve turned me on to so much good music this year. Sorry to hear 2019 wasn’t great for you, hoping 2020 is much better. Barry
Thanks so much Barry, all the best x
