In these strange days, when everyone’s plans have gone awry, we continue to spread the joy of music through sharing exclusive ‘mini-gigs’. Hopefully, these little gestures can help keep everyone going. Today we’re delighted to share the fabulous voice of Mackenzie Shivers. She brings emotion to her music, real and powerful. Her first song was written when she was just four years old.
Classically trained, with a degree in muscic composition from Vanderbilt University, Shivers combines her distinctive vocals with excellent musicianship and song-craft. Shivers delivers two songs, latest single, ‘The Canyon’, and the title track from her recent album, ‘The Unkindness’. The record was mastered, engineered, and mixed by Kevin Salem (Valerie June, Bat for Lashes). After this absorbing mini-gig, check it out, dear reader. There’s much to enjoy.
