It’s been a while since we last heard from Frances Luke Accord – who are Nicholas Gunty and Brian Powers – but here they are again with their new lockdown single. ‘Dust to Dust‘ was recorded remotely, with support from Chris Dupont (electric guitar), and Luke Jackson (drums) and sealing Frances Luke Accord’s TNMAFS credentials production by Don Mitchell of Darlingside.
The song combines children’s nursery rhymes, Sufi poetry and personal reflection to form a meditation on loneliness and a changing planet ravaged by catastrophe. And there’s a full string of catastrophe’s out there to meditate on.
