The second season of our showcase for new, lesser known and emerging talent is already shaping up to be something special but we still have some spots left.
When we launched the first series of ‘The Twang Factor’ we didn’t really know what to expect. We needn’t have worried though as we received many entries and the standard was really high. A huge number of you voted for your favourites giving us a brilliant top three and a worthy winner in Anton O’Donnell.
The response was so positive that we immediaely started to plan for Twang Factor 2 only to see our plans thwarted by lockdown as artists were unable to meet to record videos. However with restrictions now lifting, in England at least, we are ready to go again. We already have some excellent acts lined up – but its not too late to enter. Details of how to do this are under the video.
When we first announced Twang Factor 2, we gave you a little reminder of the winning entry from the first season, so this time a reminder again of the first season runner-up, Dan Friese.

Send us a link to you performing an original song. Our email address is thetwangfactor@americana-uk.com We will then view it and if you stand out from the crowd, we will be in touch. Chosen artists will then be invited to make an exclusive recording for AUK which will appear on the site in one of our weekly slots.
A few things to note:
- This is aimed at new and unknown artists.
- Despite the name, the feature is open to artists working in the broad americana/folk range – you know the kind of stuff we dig.
- Your material must be original – no covers please.
