The Twang Factor tries to bring you new talent from far and wide. This week we steer a course for Vancouver and the excellent Jesse Brint.
Reviewing Jesse Brint’s debut EP ‘This is How We Say Goodbye’ for AUK, my colleague Mark Nemadic described him as “an old school, no frills, folksy country singer-songwriter” and duly awarded the EP a 9/10 rating. You can read the full review here. Now you have the chance to judge for yourself as Jesse performs ‘House on the Hill’ exclusively for The Twang Factor 2. The track is not on the EP, so AUK readers are amongst the first to get to hear it.
Raised on John Prine, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley and Van Halen, Jesse formed a punk band at 15 years old before moving on to folk and country in adulthood. The loss of a close friend led him to open up and share his thoughts and feelings in song which in turn led to him recording his debut EP and releasing it in November 2020 on his 40th birthday.
