Something for the weekend: Keb’ Mo’ “Good To Be (Home Again)”

Credit: Bravedeer

Well that’s it for another week dear reader and we leave you with a performance of a new song from Keb’ Mo’ from the Kelly Clarkson Show in the US last week – it’s the title track from his new album ‘Good To Be (Home Again)’ out now on Rounder Records which was co-produced by Mo’ himself alongside music legend Vince Gill, who produced three of the album’s tracks, and 3-time GRAMMY winner Tom Hambridge. Old Crow Medicine Show are one among many guests on the record which was  written between Nashville and Mo’s childhood home in Compton, California, which he recently purchased and renovated. He often found himself reflecting on the idea of home and contemplating what it means to belong and what it takes to stay true to yourself. “You can’t bring an attitude to Compton,” reflects Keb’. “You can’t pose. You can’t be anything but real when you’re walking down the same streets you used to ride your bike on as a kid. In a lot of ways, coming back there felt like it completed me.” Have a good one.

Some times you hear a song or poem and you think—“I wish I had written that”. Well, thats how I feel about, “Good to be(Home Again)”, Keb Mo sounds so laid back I,m surprised he doesn,t fall over, great voice,Great delivery, and Lyrics to die for, and a live performance that does credit to all the musician,s taking part. Thank you.
