Black Deer 2022 announces its line-up

Black Deer Festival has had arguably more runs than any other at trying to give us a weekend of americana in the sun, with 3 dates over the last year and a bit cancelled, so it’s good to see that they are still powering on and have revealed the first artists confirmed for their 2022 line-up including Wilco’s only UK show of 2022, the Belfast Cowboy Van “super spreader” Morrison and Scottish-Irish folk-rock band The Waterboys. Other big names include Grammy award-winning Americana icon Lucinda Williams, roots heroes Drive-By Truckers, Irish superstar songwriter Foy Vance and returning festival favourites The Dead South.

In 2020 the festival organisers were left with no option but to roll over until the following year and were again devastated when the 2021 event, which had already been changed from its original date, was recently cancelled just days before they were due to open their gates. (We had a few things to say about that).

Also joining the 2022 line-up are The Milk Carton Kids, The Felice Brothers, The London African Gospel Choir interpreting Paul Simon’s Graceland, The Secret Sisters, Irish Mythen, Kitty, Daisy and Lewis, John Smith, Talisk, Emily Barker, Caroline Spence, and Amy Montgomery – with many more artists still to be confirmed.

Black Deer takes place on June 17th-19th 2022 – head over to their website for tickets and more information.
