It’s not often that the supergroup tag is justified but when it comes to I’m With Her it’s right on the money. Each of the members is an A list performer in her own right – Aoife O’Donovan first came to prominence with Crooked Still before launching an auspicious solo carer, Sara Watkins was a founding member of bluegrass leading lights Nickel Creek while Sarah Jarosz has had a successful solo career. All three artists have been prolific collaborators.
Having started as an off-the-cuff performance at Telluride Bluegrass Festival in 2014, I’m With Her released their “See You Around” album in 2018 and toured behind it including two spectacular shows at Union Chapel and the Hackney Empire in London. Since then, they were last seen in the Bluegrass Situation’s remote ensemble take on ‘The Weight’ during the early part of the pandemic.
Fans of the band had spotted the announcement of a US date at MerleFest in April 2025 and had been hoping for an appearance this side of the Atlantic. In fact, I’m With Her has announced two dates – 26th May 2025 at Amsterdam’s Paradiso and 29th May 2025 at the Barbican in London.
