Evan Honer is a busy person: and 2026 has already been an exceptionally prolific year for Honer. Forging ahead on his It’s An Even Longer Road tour, he has sold out countless shows, headlined festivals, joined Tyler Childers in stadiums, and opened for The Head and The Heart at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Simultaneously, Honer released two full albums: Everything I Wanted (& more), a deluxe edition of his critically acclaimed album, and Halfway, a 10-track collection available only on vinyl (the first pressing sold out in two hours and the second batch is, we’re assured, rapidly vanishing).
Honer also found time to launch The Cloverdale Project, an initiative in partnership with Plus1 to direct tour and label revenue to funding for worthwhile causes; he donated more than $20,000 in ticket sales from his last tour to The Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance. That’s cool.
And now he has more music coming out, August 7th will see the release of his four song EP called 4 songs (snappy title!). This latest song from it If You Wanna Know is an unabashed love song, which pledges patience if the other person in this putative relationship needs more time to find themselves, and understand what they want. It’s all unconditional as Honer sings “I think of you fondly, I know that you wronged me. You’re not even sorry, still wish that you’d call me” before describing the privations he’d go through whilst waiting for a rethink. To be honest, we think it’s more a description of the year of purgatory he’s lining up for himself whilst he slowly gets over her. Love, eh? What’s it all about?
