Our Man in the Field exclusive listening party for AUK readers – this Thursday!

We have long been fans of Our Man In The Field aka singer/songwriter and actor Alex Ellis, and as we announced last week, in advance of a run of tour dates over the coming months, OMITF have a new album out soon, ‘Gold On The Horizon’, due to land in November, which they are inviting AUK readers to an exclusive listening party to debut it this Thursday at 7pm. Alex told us: “Those in the know, know, that Americana UK has always been the best place to read about and discover new music.  No nonsense, honest and authentic – which is exactly what we try to do with our music.  They have been very kind to us and instrumental in establishing the foothold from which we’ve been able to stand on since our first record came out in 2020.  We’re very excited to be holding the only listening party for ‘Gold On The Horizon’ with AUK and their readers.  We are going to make a very limited edition version of the vinyl record just for AUK to accompany the listening party.  The first pressing of the record is on golden vinyl but the Americana-UK version will be a different colour which will be decided by those who join the listening party. It will also include some cool extras….”  And who knows what those ellipsis might mean?

OMITF have been rated by Willy Vlautin among others who commented: “We were lucky enough to tour with Our Man In The Field, and all of us in The Delines became huge fans. Their new album is the best thing they’ve done so far….and that’s saying something. It’s currently on repeat in our van and is a true beauty of a record.”  You can pre-order the limited edition of the album here – and grab your cocoa and longjohns, the link to the listening party is here.
