Pat Carter, singer/songwriter of acclaimed alt-country band Rodeo FM, and his partner in crime, Luis de Cicco, head man of hill country blues combo Caboose, will hit the road again in April 2026, promoting their new album Kick Your Yia-Yias Out. This new album, out on April 2nd, consists primarily of songs Carter wrote for his acclaimed solo debut Love in the Time of Capitalism, released in 2025.
However, these are the genuine versions – performed for the first time on tour in Belgium and England in 2024, freshly written and recorded in an intimate, acoustic setting. Ten days into the tour, Carter and de Cicco sat down at the YiaYia’s studio in Hastings and recorded these songs in one go in one morning. The performance catches the original intention of the songs with no band to sugarcoat or sophisticate the melancholy and rawness of the songs.
Pat Carter says: “Of course, the album title was a no-brainer, the studio is called the YiaYias, so why not reference the Stones classic (considering we were touring in England). Kicking your Yia Yias out apparently can have several meanings, among them is getting rid of a ghost haunting you, which pretty much sums up the process of writing and touring these songs recorded live in the studio in Hastings two years ago, and basically is an acoustic version of last year’s Love in the time of Capitalism” (which got a solid 9 out of 10 here on this very website).
