Something for the weekend: Jason McNiff “Wherever I Choose”

That’s it for another week dear reader and we leave you with a new song by a man included in my top 10 americana albums of all time list which was published yesterday. ‘Wherever I Choose’ is the first single from the new Jason McNiff album, ‘Dust of Yesterday’, which lands in the UK on April 16th. Produced by Roger Askew who’s also previously worked with Joe Strummer, Christy Moore and Wilko Johnson among others, the song was written on a roof terrace in Palma, Mallorca and inspired by hearing some vagrants in the Old Town playing guitars and singing. Jason told us: “In this song I tried to describe the beauty of simple things, a walk through the ancient city, the freedom to wander… and somewhere along the line it led me to consider God and the existence of Free Will.” It’s a blissfully lovely piece of music to head into the weekend with. Have a good one.
