Well that’s it from us for another week dear reader. If you haven’t voted in our readers poll yet, there’s still plenty of time to fix it for your favourite artist. While we doze into our gin over the weekend, why not join the conversation in our new community forums where this week we have been discussing songs about drinking, Jimmy Cliff and the right to a jury trial – it’s an eclectic space!
We leave you this week with a brand new song from Luke Tuchscherer who is sharing the third single from his critically acclaimed “Living Through History” album today accompanied by a full-length video. ‘Whose Side Are You On?’, released by our friends over at Clubhouse Records, is a barn-burning barroom rocker of a track with politically charged lyrics. Tuchscherer said: “On the surface it seems like this Stones-style rock’n’roll number that people can dance to and have fun with. But the lyrics are really a kind of socialist recruitment anthem… I thought it was an interesting contrast. It’s written to appeal to the people who know something is up with the world, but might not realise that capitalism is at the core of most of our problems. And of course, if you realise that already, you can just rock out to it!”
Danny Tipping, who made the video and is also a co-founder of Clubhouse Records, comments: “The ‘Whose Side Are You On?’ video features vintage footage from the US trading floors, where traders make and lose fortunes in a blink of an eye. It’s a great song with a powerful message that has been going down a storm live.”
We at AUK Towes of course heartily approve of socialist recruitment anthems in all their forms. Take care everyone, don’t forget Palestine and keep fighting the fascists. See you next week.

Nice article, and thanks for helping me find new music!
