Welcome to the fourth year of Twang Factor, where Americana UK sets out to find the best new and emerging americana acts. Got talent? This is the place to show us what you’ve got.
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Alice Wallace released her latest album, Here I Am, via Mule Kick Records, earlier in 2025. Here I Am marks a return to themes of self-examination after several collections that featured predominantly story songs. “I needed to make a record that was really true to myself, both for me and for my fans who have encouraged me in ways I am so grateful for,” she explains. “Songs are how I process. And writing this album helped me process so much of what has happened in the last few years.”
Wallace says Here I Am is an album about reclaiming herself, as an artist, as a woman, and as a person navigating a world that is beautiful and confusing and harsh. Since releasing her last LP in 2019, Wallace’s life has changed immensely – a cross-country move, a career unexpectedly halted in 2020, falling in love more deeply than before, and being heartbroken more painfully than she ever knew she could be. “All of those changes gave me a chance to examine myself in ways I never had. This album covers a spectrum of emotions I haven’t been brave enough to share on an album before,” she continues. “This album is me.”
Here I Am is available for streaming and downloading here or at her website.
