Our next contestant is Johnson & Finnemore, who are a UK-based country-folk duo made up of lap steel guitarist Stewart Johnson and frontman Dan Finnemore. The pair first joined forces in 2018 while working on the Swampmeat Family Band album “Too Many Things to Hide,” sparking a creative partnership that has since flourished into a distinctive sound of their own.
Blending soulful country tones, blues-driven anthems, and echoes of ‘70s Laurel Canyon, their music highlights Johnson’s signature pedal steel playing alongside Finnemore’s evocative songwriting. Together, they have crafted multiple albums that showcase a deep respect for tradition while carving out a unique place within the modern folk and country scene.
The duo’s album “Find A Love That Brings You Home” was released in the autumn of 2025 on Gulf Coast Records. This latest collaboration strips it back but still offers the rich and rewarding country blues laments that brought them together in the first place.
