The Lonesome Captain and His Hurt Feelings have the ‘Cure For You’.   This horn-fueled rave-up is the first track off the upcoming album ‘The Country Funk Elixir’.  Featuring a stellar band with the Captain on guitar, Brian Whelan (Dwight Yoakum, Chris Shiflet) on keys, Kaya Shaffer(Little Silver Hearts, Kettle of Hawks) on drums, Chris Tedesco on horns, Delany Rennae (American Idol)on backing vocals, and Chris LaCagnina (Little Silver Hearts, Ryan Duff) on bass.  The guitar sounds like it is about to self-combust as the rhythm section swings its way through the song. The music video features a marionette of The Lonesome Captain performing the song as the lyrics are played on a vintage fender amp.

The Captain describes the track, “’Cure for You’ is the opening shot of the Country Funk Elixir- A post-modern medicine show that infuses country, funk, soul, and blues, with menacing rockabilly guitar that soothes life’s ills with equal parts humor and empathy.  This shamanistic rave-up is guaranteed to fix what ails you.”

‘The Country Funk Elixir’ is due 30th August on all streaming platforms and in limited edition red vinyl in October of 2025.
