Sepia toned nostalgia on the screen in the video for Frank Viele’s ‘Dive Bar Poet’. The song is a character study of bartender who has bigger dreams and ambitions. The illustrated images in the video evoke the early 20th century while the song itself sounds like it would stand along any classic country song. Viele’s raspy delivery brings the ‘Dive Bar Poet’ character to life as it is both hopeful and wistful at the same time. Viele is joined by Tom Barraco on drums, Anthony Candullo on bass, James LeBlanc on guitars and backing vocals, as well as Jimmy Nutt producing, engineering and playing percussion.
Viele explains the inspiration for the song: “My family owned a bar on Campbell Avenue in West Haven, CT for most of my young life. Campbell Ave is notoriously known for its large stretch of alcohol-serving establishments so growing up in that atmosphere from time to time as a child certainly opened my eyes to all different sorts of folks.”
This track is the first single from The upcoming full length album ‘The Trouble With Desire’ Due 7th February, 2025.
