Check out the latest video from producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist Nathan Kalish. We’re delighted to premiere the single ‘My Love’ on album-release day, 22nd July 2022. The Nashville-based singer-songwriter has enlisted the help of his band the Derechos and their considerable talents are on show here in this live recording. Ethereal backing vocals and gorgeous steel guitar enrich the sound of ‘My Love’, adding texture to Kalish’s distinctive voice and fluttering guitar. The song is upbeat and fast-paced, engaging the listener immediately as Kalish sings earnestly of a tender kind of love: “My love, my love, my love // Is from another century // Yes it’s kind and gentle // And nothing like these days.”
During his many years spent travelling around Europe and the USA with his missionary parents and later as a touring performer, Kalish was picking up musical influences and a blend of psychedelic folk and cosmic country is at the heart of new album ‘Great Big Motel Bed in the Sky’. A host of excellent musicians support Kalish on the album, including David Guy (Amanda Shires) on bass and Zach Vinson on keys. Tracked in just three days at Trace Horse Studio before being mixed by Kalish himself, the new record is an absorbing collection of songs about the universal themes of life, love and loss.
