Arisaig Americana Music festival announces line-up

A new festival hits the decks this June in, and we know this won’t surprise you, Arisaig.  It’ll run over a weekend – 23rd-24th June to be precise – and offers an afternoon of free music workshops focusing on Bluegrass guitar, fiddle, banjo and mandolin.  This is followed up by a two part concert starting at 7PM and finishing at midnight (or thereabouts).  What bands?  Well – The Jellyman’s Daughter and Crow County Pickers (who include Mairi Orr in their number) make up the first half with the late gig being The Wynntown Marshals and The Daddy Naggins.  Sunday offers a free-for-all Bluegrass jam session starting at 2PM and finishing…when it finishes.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
