Carlisle’s Hardwicke Circus have announced the release of their latest album “Cumbria Pizza” on 29th November 2024 on their own Alternative Facts Records in vinyl, CD and digital formats. The record is an unplugged album, recorded live at The Pizza Express, Holborn in London. The band – one of Britain’s most hardworking – have also announced a series of tour dates in December 2024, leading up to Christmas and culminating in a hometown show at Carlisle’s Brickyard on 20th December 2024.
Named for a roundabout on Carlisle’s inner ring road between the Civic Centre and Eden Bridge, Hardwicke Circus have built up a strong reputation through relentless touring without regard for normal logistics. Their sound has been likened to Springsteen, Dylan, The Doors and The Clash but, based on their live show, 1970s Stones or The Faces might be closer to mark with all the americana crossover that implies.
Cumbrian Pizza was produced by Dave Robinson, founder of Stiff Records with production credits stretching back to early 1970s albums by Brinsley Schwarz and Ernie Graham. The recordings were mixed at Perry Vale Studios in South London by Robinson and the late Pat Collier.
The track list for Cumbria Pizza features songs from the band’s three albums including “Fly The Flag” (2023) which was reviewed positively by AUK’s Joe Graham.
