‘Blue‘ is the latest single from Loren Cole’s debut album ‘For the sake of being honest‘ and it cuts through the endless clutter of new music with a crystal clear vocal and an elegant and almost minimalist arrangement. The result is a song that’s honest and direct, no obfuscation here. Loren Cole is definitely on “your” side, and your damn lucky that she is. The album reflects these sensibilities, with Cole calling on songs that draw on her recent experiences – and also throwing back a half-dozen years or so to shine up early angsty teenage attempts at songcrafting, pulling their honesty and openness onto the album.
