Delta queen Bronwynne Brent to play UK tour in October

Bronwynne Brent

Mississippi Delta songbird, Bronwynne Brent, made a major US impact with the release of her “Deep Black Water” album back in 2011. When her follow-up “Stardust” arrived to critical acclaim in 2014,  Bob Harris declared himself a fan and played tracks on his BBC Radio 2 shows repeatedly,

That was ten years ago, and, after her first run of live dates, she won an invitation to have her own headline show at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections festival, and on her second UK tour, she began packing them in. Then Harris invited her into his studios for two live sessions, at a time when his BBC Radio 2 rock show attracted one of the biggest audiences. Brent also then won the Female Vocalist of the Year award in the 2019 annual Readers’ Poll at Americana UK.

Brent has announced a series of UK tour dates in October 2025, where she will be performing in trio format with two of her favourite musicians – Chris Maresh on bass and Graeme Stephen (electric guitar) – get set to fall under a particularly entrancing spell.  The tour will be her most extensive to date and includes appearances at both the Glasgow Americana Festival and the Vertex Festival in West Kilbride, North Ayrshire.

She will also release a new single entitled ‘A Lamb’, as a teaser ahead of her next album (her 4th), which is due for release next year. The song, in her powerful style (both in terms of vocal delivery and content), was, she says, driven by her abhorrence of gun violence, and drawn from a personal experience which affected her profoundly.  You can listen to it below:
