Logan Staats’ latest single, ‘Medicine Wheel,‘ is a song that came easily to him, as he describes, “There is something special about the effortless way this story fell out of me. Storytelling is an important aspect of our culture, and this is a story about what I’ve seen through my own lens as a Mohawk man who is reclaiming my identity.” Whilst the song describes the construction of a particular healing salve, it’s about more than just the literal description of a physical healing mix, as Staats explains: “This isn’t just a song about medicine; this song is my medicine. A phoenix from the ashes, a diamond in the rough, a beacon of hope and a reminder to never give up when it gets dark. Even sage grows in the ditches, and Creator gives the hardest battles to the bravest warriors.”
‘Medicine Wheel‘ is Logan Staats’ first release since signing with Ishkōdé Records, and is also the first from his forthcoming third album. Staats has just wound up the November leg of a Canadian tour with Julian Taylor, and they’ll be setting out again in January.

I’ll be catching up again with Julian Taylor when he appears at Kirton Lindsey, Lincs in April. It would be great if Logan Staats was still on the road with him. Any chance??!
It looks like they only have Canadian dates right now…but, who knows?
