Nashville husband and wife The War and The Treaty have announced their first tour of the UK. The tour will include London’s Jazz Cafe and Black Deer Festival in its seven locations. On the back of their 2018 debut ‘Healing Tide‘ and 2020 follow up ‘Heart’s Town‘, the pair revealed new music on The Grand Old Opry’s live channel in the form of a new song ‘,Yesterday’s Burn‘. More new music is expected this year.
Since forming in 2014, The War And Treaty – Tanya Trotter and Michael Trotter Jr – have been performing an eclectic mix of a bluesy Southern soul, gospel, country, and rock-and-roll. The duo was named Emerging Act of the Year by the Americana Music Association and “Artist of the Year” at the 2021 International Folk Music Awards. The War And Treaty performed at the 2020 Grammy Awards alongside Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Gary Clark Jr. and Common in a tribute to Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich. Last April, they joined Dierks Bentley for a performance of U2’s “Pride (In the Name of Love)” for the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards.
