Ray Wylie Hubbard feat. Willie Nelson "Stone Blind Horses"
World-weary but wise, defiant but reflecting on defeat. ‘Stone Blind Horses’ is Ray Wylie Hubbard’s hymn to a life lived and hard lessons learned. Willie Nelson joins Hubbard, weaving his iconic voice around the lyrics and supporting his fellow outlaw. The images of the video echo the sombre gravel in Hubbard’s voice. The two elder statesmen from Texas wax nostalgic and reminisce with the recognition that survivors get to continue to feel the joy of being alive.
‘Stone Blind Horses’ is the first video from Hubbard’s upcoming ‘Co-Starring too’ album that features duets with not only Nelson but a number of other country and americana stars. Expanding on 2020’s ‘Co-Starring’ – the all-star project that included Don Was, Joe Walsh, Ringo Starr, Ronnie Dunn, Peter Rowan, Larkin Poe and Aaron Lee Tasjan, among others – he returns with another benchmark–setting album.
“When I finished writing ‘Stone Blind Horses’,” Hubbard recollects, ‘…the thought came to me: ‘If Willie were to sing this with me, it would be like getting a nod of approval from the Universe itself.’ I guess I got it. Thanks, Willie.”
‘CO-STARRING TOO’ will be available worldwide on March 18, 2022.

“Beans and biscuit in my cupboard, listen to Ray Wylie Hubbard!” Houston-born Hayes Carll all but bellows on one of his early tracks, ‘Down the Road Tonight’, just to make it perfectly clear that he, for one, thinks checking out his fellow Americana artist is as fundamental and natural as…
