Bob Dylan reveals the Shadow Kingdom

What is ‘Shadow Kingdom‘?   It’s an act of taking control of his past, perhaps, it’s also a new album from Bob Dylan.  Released on June 2nd, with the video album of the release coming out on June 6th.  But, what is ‘Shadow Kingdom‘?  Well, it’s an album that presents Dylan performing revelatory 21st century versions of songs from his storied back catalogue – including fan favorites like ‘Forever Young’ and ‘It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue’, and deep catalog gems like ‘Queen Jane Approximately’ and ‘The Wicked Messenger’.  Although if we may interject into the PR a little, ‘Queen Jane Approximately’ and ‘The Wicked Messenger’ are also fan favourites – and to be honest we don’t really see ‘Highway 61 Revisited‘ and ‘John Wesley Harding‘ as obscure Dylan albums.   Anyway, we digress albeit for good reason.

Originally these songs were reinterpreted for an exclusive streaming film event, which aired in July 2021 -they’ll now be available as digital, CD and 2LP 12 vinyl formats. The full track listing is:

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
