If you’ve recovered from the joy of the recent seven-album release of “Tracks II” then it’s time to move on to the next phase of releases from Springsteen. This one is a little smaller – on 25th August, Bruce Springsteen’s era-defining classic “Born to Run” turned 50, and to mark the milestone, Sony Music has shared the first official release of 1975 studio outtake ‘Lonely Night in the Park‘. Tracked during the legendary Record Plant sessions for “Born to Run“, and heavily considered for album inclusion at the time, ‘Lonely Night in the Park‘ arrives in studio quality, as it has never been heard before. The release is also accompanied by some unreleased photo’s from the cover shoot by Eric Meola.
Is this the song that would have pushed “Born to Run” to even greater heights? We’re inclined to doubt that a little, however, it is something else to hear new music from that era of Springsteen at his rocking finest.
