Caroline Spence to release fifth album in late summer 2025

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Caroline Spence has announced the release of her fifth album, “Heart Go Wild”, on 29th August 2025. Spence is a serial collaborator, having been joined on her songs over the years by artists such as Emmylou Harris, Matt Berninger of The National, Sarah Jarosz and Lori McKenna. She loves writing with other artists for their projects as well as with producers for film and TV opportunities.  Earlier this year, Spence partnered with Rachel Baiman for two songs on the latter’s “A Sides / B Sides” project. She also found time to embrace motherhood, with her baby son arriving towards the end of last year.

“Heart Go Wild” was produced and played by Spence, Mark Campbell and Peter Groenwald.  Spence says, “I will be forever grateful to Peter and Mark for making music my playground again and being with me while I reclaimed my creativity. To me, making this record was more about the journey than the destination, but I think we landed somewhere pretty spectacular.”

The album comprises 12 tracks – 6 per vinyl side. Of the songs, Spence tells us, “The songs on this album touch on just about everything a heart can feel. Titling this album “Heart Go Wild” is my way of giving myself permission — to go wild in daring to present these stories of the heart, staying vulnerable and unfiltered and to stay in that wildness as I continue to go through life and make music.”

‘Effortless’ has been released as the second single. The song was co-written with one of her dearest friends, Clare Reynolds. “The song is about not settling and trusting that when the right things fall into place, you will know it with certainty”, advises Spence. “It feels like the perfect song to start this new chapter of releasing music effortlessly as an independent artist.”
