This Patsy Cline performance clip is from one of her four 1962 appearances on the ‘Pet Milk Grand Ole Opry’ television program, named for its sponsor of the time, which ran from 1960 to 1963. The video is listed as being from country/rockabilly artist, songwriter, and TV presenter Bobby Lord’s own program on WSM-TV in Nashville, but ‘The Bobby Lord Show’ didn’t start until the following year, six months after Cline’s death. She did sing an impromptu duet with Lord during the April 16th episode. Her last appearance on the Opry show was February 18, 1963, when she performed ‘Blue Moon of Kentucky’ and ‘Leavin’ On Your Mind.’
‘Imagine That’ was not one of Cline’s massive hits, only reaching #21 on the U.S. Country charts and not included on her 1962 album, ‘Sentimentally Yours’. Cline was in top form here, visibly relaxed, with such incredible pitch and only slight variations from the original recording. Her personal style had also evolved to a more sophisticated contemporary one from her first TV performances, such as her 1957 broadcast debut wearing a fringed cowgirl outfit!
