Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated band Counting Crows has announced their forthcoming new album, “Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets!” will be released on May 9 via BMG. This is the first new material since 2021’s “Butter Miracle: Suite One”, and the album contains the four tracks from that EP along with five original unreleased songs, including the new single ‘Spaceman In Tulsa’ which can you listen to below. As ever, the music blends their signature storytelling with their trademark sound and is, in fact, the band’s first single in nearly five years. This release will mark the band’s first full album since 2014’s “Somewhere Under Wonderland” and will be their eighth of a thirty-two-year career, but who’s Counting?
“‘Spaceman In Tulsa’ is about metamorphosis – the way music breaks down who we were and spins us into something new. It’s about broken lives becoming something better,” remarks singer Adam Duritz of the new song.
The album promises to embody the contrast between intimate storytelling and larger-than-life themes and to deliver the signature storytelling and rich melodies that have made the band so successful having shifted over 20 million over the last three decades. And, as usual, frontman Duritz delivers a raw and compelling vocal performance, backed by the band’s dynamic instrumentation that blends all those rock, folk, and alternative influences.
