Daniel Rodriguez, known the world over for his work as founder member of the Colardo outfit Elephant Revival, returns to the UK next month with his own band, for a run of dates to promote his latest album ‘Vast Nothing’. During the years he shared lead vocals with Elephant Revival, Rodriguez had both as a writer and performer for many become the “voice” of the band. When they each decided to take time off to explore new projects, his creative output continued. Late in 2020, he released his debut solo album, the critically acclaimed ‘Sojourn of a Burning Sun’, and continued to tour across America with his new four-piece as well as doing occasional solo shows. Last time he was in the UK was when Elephant Revival flew in for their own headline show at Celtic Connections in Glasgow, and sold out the city’s 1000-capacity Old Fruitmarket venue.
Elephant Revival recently re-formed much to the delight of fans on both sides of the Atlantic and have been appearing at major outdoor events all over the USA. Rodriguez, whose songs have been covered by other artists including The Lumineers, has also been on the road in America with his tight and tidy pared-back combo, creating a big impact.
The upcoming dates will be the band’s highly-anticipated first visit to these shores. The line-up includes Daniel Rodriguez on acoustic guitar/vocals, Emma Rose on vocal harmony, Zachary Jackson on bass and vocal harmony, and Justin Mazer on Telecaster guitar. And how can you resist going to see someone whose profile includes “Dad jokes with no kids”? Tickets are available through the official website here.
