Dominique Pruitt “Praying For Rain” – Listen

Dominique Pruitt was born into a musical legacy — her father Larry Brown once played in The Association and Smothers Brothers before joining Engelbert Humperdinck in the ‘80s, and mother Anne-Marie Brown sang with The Babys and Jon Waite.  A musical future was, perhaps inevitable – and Dominique Pruitt is charting a path of her own with her new EP ‘Praying for Rain’ which was released on July 2nd.

The new release is the culmination of years of perseverance – back in 2018 Dominique Pruitt released a well received single but was unable to follow up immediately with the rest of her music.  And then – well, 2020 happened and plans got put on hold, and a relocation out of Los Angeles further delayed things.  Now, at last, Dominique Pruitt is releasing a 5 song EP that she has been sitting on for 3 years.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
