Emmy Award-winning songwriter Foy Vance will embark on the ‘You & I UK Tour’ next week. Named after a track from Vance’s breakthrough 2013 album “Joy Of Nothing”, the tour includes residencies in Belfast Opera House (November 5th – 9th) and London EartH (November 29th – December 1st), with matinee and evening shows on the last two dates in Belfast. Many shows are sold out but there are limited tickets still available. The ‘You & I Tour’ follows on from Vance’s ‘Regarding The Joy Of Nothing World Tour’, which began in late 2023 and concluded this month in Utrecht. Watch the video for ‘Guiding Light’ below.
Fans will already be aware that the Northern Irishman’s shows are often interactive affairs and for this tour he will taking fan requests for part of each set, via social media ahead of the show and also from the audience on the night. The opening support act for each evening will be a different local comedian, in Belfast this includes Dave Elliot, Shane Todd, Diona Doherty, James McKegney & William Thompson, while in London this includes Vittorio Angelone, Richie Bree & Mickey Overman.
Comments Vance: “The You & I Shows are based on a concept that has been toyed with before and always hinted at by the audience anywhere I play. I’ve never done a show without requests and I rarely do them so I figured it was high time I did some shows where I oblige. A night of music curated by the people for the people. The cherry on the cake will be the opener in the form of a variety of local comedians…if the requests get heavy then the comedy will act as a pressure valve. I’m truly looking forward to these shows!”
In January this year, Vance, together with co-writer Ed Sheeran and producer Max Martin, won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the track “A Beautiful Game”, written for the final episode of the hit Apple TV series ‘Ted Lasso’. Tickets for the tour are available here.
