Catskills-based singer/songwriter Hannah Cohen has announced a series of tour dates in the Nordic countries and the UK in August 2026. Cohen has also unveiled her first new music since her album Earthstar Mountain that was released in March 2025 via Bella Union. Golden Chain is a forlorn and delicate ballad that showcases Cohen’s signature vocals. You can see the video directed by Keenan O’Meara at the foot of this article.

Originally from San Francisco, Cohen comes from a family of writers and musicians. Her grandfather, Bertie Rodgers, was a poet, while her father is the jazz drummer Myron Cohen. Having initially immersed herself in the New York music scene, working at the Village Vanguard, Cohen recorded her debut album, Child Bride, in 2012 under the watchful eye of producer Thomas Bartlett, with a band that included Sam Amidon. Two more albums followed, including Welcome Home, which was released in 2019, since when Cohen relocated to the Catskills, a subrange of the Appalachian Mountains named by the early Dutch settlers, which is where the inspiration for Earthstar Mountain was drawn.

Cohen has a summer packed with festival dates, including a main-stage slot at Kilby Block Party and appearances at Montréal Jazz Festival, Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival, and Winnipeg Folk Festival. Later in the summer, she will tour the EU/UK before returning to the US for a run of shows supporting Alabama Shakes.
