The more observant among you will have noted this year’s Grammy awards took place yesterday and Jason Isbell took away two awards, one for Best American Roots Song for his song with the 400 Unit ‘Cast Iron Skillet,’ and one for the album from which that song is taken, the all-conquering “Weathervanes”. There were wins too for Brandy Clarke and Brandi Carlile, Allison Russell, Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway, and Joni Mitchell who as they predicted beat our dearly beloved Milk Carton Kids but hey, what an act to lose to.
