Jonathan Wilson, new album in March. Tour too.

The living modern embodiment of the Laurel Canyon vibe Jonathan Wilson has announced that his latest album of happening sounds for discerning listeners will be released on the 2nd of march. It’s called Rare Birds and – if previous efforts are any guide to future achievements – it is going to be fab. Guitar wizardry. Pedal steel. Lyrics that matter. These are the things we’re anticipating right now.

Those things – and these things: Jonathan Wilson’s UK tour dates. A busy spurt in the dying embers of March will see him play the length and also the breadth of the land. One question that tickles the mind is why, after a sell out appearance at the Union Chapel on his last tour, has he decided to do two smaller shows in London? That’s a good thing of course – two chances to go, two dates which it might be possible to make one or other or, with a little luck, both.

Tour Dates

14th March Glasgow ÒRAN MÓR
15th March Dublin WHELAN’S
16th March Leeds BRUDENELL SOCIAL CLUB
17th March Brighton CONCORDE 2
19th March LONDON OMEARA
20th March LONDON OMEARA

And while we wait for the new, here’s something quite old.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
