The Canadian duo Madison Violet have announced their farewell tour. Subtitled “A Celebration of 25 Years”, the dates mark the end of a partnership which has resulted in eleven albums, Juno nominations, Canadian Folk Music awards and many fond memories for fans from years of touring.

Madison Violet comprises Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac, who originally met up in Toronto despite both having roots in a small town on Cape Breton Island. The duo originally performed as MadViolet before switching to the extended name ahead of their fourth album – and their first for True North Records – “No Fool For Trying”.

MacEachern and MacIsaac have received Industry recognition, including a JUNO nomination for Roots Traditional Album of the Year, a Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year, multiple East Coast Music Award nominations, and the honour of becoming the first Canadians to win the Maxell John Lennon Songwriting Grand Prize. Most recently, the pair earned a Producer of the Year nomination for their self-produced album, “Eleven”, showcasing not only their songwriting strength but also their creative independence.

After a quarter-century filled with love, loss, laughter, and the kind of honesty that can only be found in music, the duo has made the deeply personal decision to part ways creatively and pursue new paths. However, Madison Violet won’t simply fade quietly into the background. Instead, they’re embarking on a farewell tour, a celebratory journey to connect one last time with the fans and friends who’ve supported them around the world.

So now everybody has one last chance to experience Madison Violet live on stage in your town, city or island. The tour promises to be emotional, unforgettable, and full of stirring moments.

For the uninitiated, there is a video of show highlight ‘Utah’  shot in Berlin at the foot of this piece. If you prefer a larger slice, you can find their 2010 Rockpalast show via this link.
