‘Ashes, Ashes‘ is the new single from Mag Baird’s upcoming album ‘Furling‘, which will be released on January 27th on Drag City. It’s as dreamy and otherworldly as you might expect from the frontwoman of Espers, and there are more than a few hints of that band in this “song without words, tree without leaves”. It is built more around pianos and subtle percussion, with Meg Baird’s ethereal vocals contributing a somewhat discordant mood to the piece. It’s strange and lovely.
