Americana/folk singer-songwriter Micah P. Hinson has announced his forthcoming album, “The Tomorrow Man”, will be released on 31st October 2025 via Ponderosa Music. To coincide with the new album, Hinson will also embark on an EU/UK tour later this year.
Following the release of his critically acclaimed album “I Lie to You” in 2022, Hinson and Milan-based producer Alessandro “Asso” Stefana (PJ Harvey/Mike Patton) went back into the studio in northern Italy and began working on what would become his new album. “The Tomorrow Man” is a collection of songs written in Spain and Texas. All new compositions, apart from the long-lost country classic ‘The Last Train To Texas’, the songs represent landmarks in his life. “I have been searching for these songs my entire life. I’ve been on a lifelong voyage to find the perfect place where truth and understanding live, and thrive, in the forefront of my mind and my songs. I have found this place and will be chasing this beast til my last days.”
The album is preceded by new single ‘Oh, Sleepyhead’. Written in one of the most intense and vulnerable moments of his life, the song was born as a response to an inevitable inner change. ‘Oh, Sleepyhead’ recounts the detachment from a now suffocating reality, the overcoming of fears and the painful but necessary journey towards a new form of freedom. A track that, in some ways, represents a clean break from its traditional introspective style, thanks to the presence of the Benevento orchestra led by Raffaele Tiseo, which gives it a sometimes band-like sound.
Hinson says “When I wrote this song, my life was changing drastically, and day by day. The things I held dear, and the things that held me dear, were changing. The things I once held close were now seen as hindrances. The love I once felt had turned to something more akin to control. They were strange times, and times that could only hold me hostage for so long. This song represents the freedom of finding a new day, a new way to live, and the pain of leaving old lives behind. We can only be prisoner of our own lives if we allow it, but, yes, I know, as most things in life- change comes with a price and freedom comes with consequences.” You can listen to the single below.

Awaiting Hinson to recant his anti-Obama (= ‘Anti the American Dream’) diatribe published in an interview with Laura Snapes in 2010…. ie him ‘missing Bush’ and hisnonsense about free health care…. ‘survival of the fittest’ credo…
When will any interviewer have the cojones to ask him about this fundamental approach to life which inherently informs his writing and views on life, personal and collective..?
