Something for the weekend: Shania Twain featuring the Milk Carton Kids “Who Do You Love”

Well that’s it from us for this week, a week which has felt like a cloud has been hanging over our americana community if we’re being honest for obvious reasons.

Don’t forget we still have some tickets left for our 25-year anniversary event which comes to two stages across Liverpool’s Rough Trade venue and Quaker Meeting House next month with performances from Chuck Prophet and the Echo Strings, Steve Wynn, Dean Owens and the Often Herd among others.  Tickets are on sale from this link. We’d love to see you there.

So to end the week, here’s something of a first for us – a Shania Twain song on the website (although I’m happy to admit I always loved this recording she did of one of her songs with Alison Krauss and Union Station). We are of course doing that because this track taken from her new album Little Miss Twain features a liberal sprinkling of their usual magic from the Milk Carton Kids. The duo are heading to the UK for dates in January, the Manchester one of which I will undoubtedly weep my way through as ever.

Take care, don’t forget Palestine and keep fighting those fascists. Naomi Klein has written a new book about some of them and it’s absolutely terrifying. See you next week.
