As we hinted last week, the Low Anthem’s return might not be what you’re expecting. Inspired by a van crash and years holed up restoring and experimenting in an old theatre in Rhode Island, it’s an elegiac and largely acoustic song cycle peppered with a humming electronic ambience – listen to the lead single below. The full album is out this Friday and the band have just announced a series of UK dates (plus one in Ireland) in April to promote the record, and where we imagine you’ll be able to hear some of their angelic harmonised sound too. Here are those dates.
