Listeners will find high quality music, given new life by Peter Maher (U2), who has remastered ten great songs for 2022. The new record will be launched, with the help of a string quartet and other guests, at Leaf in Liverpool on 23rd September; look out for tickets here.
‘Bruce’ is one of the songs featured on the new album. Beginning with brightly strummed guitar and swaying with a gentle rhythm, ‘Bruce’ is a great example of O’Hare’s fine songcraft and sense of infectious melody. This is is song for music lovers, a song about the nostalgic connections we have to, “…Those songs you love best,” a song about the music we turn to when we need it. In the video, O’Hare performs in front of a gorgeous sunset, interspersed with footage of people responding to the sounds they love. AUK’s Martin Johnson spoke to Alan O’Hare recently (read the full interview here) and he spoke to our readers directly of the importance of music, which binds us into a community: “Thank you for supporting a website that loves music. There’s more of us than we think, let’s stay together and help each other keep music in the mainstream.” It’s a great sentiment that fits well with this song. ‘Bruce’ is a song that will lift you. Enjoy.
