Here is the latest release from Indian singer-songwriter Aneesha. Her usual electronic style isn’t what you tend to find on AUK but this stripped-back version of Aneesha’s latest single is captivating. Accompanied by warm acoustic guitar, Aneesha demonstrates the range and soulful quality of her voice in her heartfelt delivery of ‘This Is All We’ve Got’, a truly personal song that is full of deeper meaning. The song was written after Aneesha heard the news that a loved one was terminally ill. Her response is an intimate exploration of the fragility of human relationships, the real sense of loss coming through in her emotive lyrics. Aneesha takes us through the range of feelings she experienced, which many listeners will associate with: fear, powerlessness and, ultimately, acceptance. ‘This Is all We’ve Got’ is honest, melodic songwriting, performed here with a disarming vulnerability.
