Newcastle-based songwriter Alan Fish whose band The Attention Seekers’ superb latest release we covered here on the site last year, has released a new song in collaboration with Prudhoe singer/songwriter Rob Wanless to help him develop a tribute to his home town of Prudhoe which lies about 11 miles west of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne and just south of the River Tyne. Alan told us that this may be the first song written about this bustling Northumberland town.
‘The Prudhoe Song’ song features Wanless on vocals, Fish on guitars, bass and vocals, Niles Krieger on fiddle and mandolin, and Trevor Brewis on drums. The song was produced by Fish, engineered by Tony Davis and recorded at Newcastle’s Cluny Studios. Songwriting credits are from Fish and Wanless and has been getting some great local airplay – we think it deserves to be heard wider.
