Willie Watson announces UK tour dates for the new year

Following the release of his widely acclaimed new album, and US tour, Willie Watson, the singer-songwriter, poet, actor and multi-instrumentalist will be coming to the UK at the start of 2025 for a headline tour. The visit will include an appearance as part of the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow.

The former founding member of Old Crow Medicine Show has been a part of numerous musical projects, soundtracks, and films. Yet his new collection of songs, represents an honest reflection of Watson’s life, his mistakes, his traumas, and his gratitude to still be here, to still be alive, and to still be loved. It’s the type of record that can’t come early in a career and was won after a life of hard battles and difficult lessons.

Bringing his beautiful songs to life, Watson has many years of musical output to draw from. However, the centrepiece of the performances will be Watson’s first-ever solo album of original material which, over 20 years into his career, was released worldwide in September 2024. Watson comments, “These songs of mine… they’ve rung out and sung out so clear and true on stages here at home in America. I can’t wait to hear how they feel on the stages across the sea in Great Britain!”

As a hint of what’s to come you can peruse below a video of Watson performing ‘Sad Song’ preceded by a fascinating discourse on denim laundry for those interested. Tickets can be found through Watson’s website or venues.
