As outlined in yesterday’s runners-up announcement, The Twang Factor 3 was a very close affair but in the end Southampton-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rob Clamp won it by a nose from runners-up Sunsinger and the High Seas. The judges were hugely impressed by Rob and what finally swung it in his favour was that little bit of star quality which he brought to a very impressive performance. It was felt that it was easy to envisige him performing on a larger professional stage. As is now customary we have invited Rob to do a ‘Winner’s Session’ for us and look forward to publishing that soon.
The song that Rob chose to perform for us, ‘Wind in My Hair’ was his first single released in 2020. Rob has been influenced by Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty as well as more contemporary songwriters such as Ben Howard. Rob is blessed with an outstanding voice which he can adapt to differing styles within his music from pop through to folk and roots. He is beginning to establish himself on the folk circuit and last year won the ‘Purbeck Rising’ award at the Purbeck Valley Folk Festival 2022.
Rob’s music is available via Spotify and all major streaming sites. In addition, you can find out more about Rob and his music via these links:

Well done to AUK for ‘twang factoring’ – helping less well-known performers get some exposure
