Video: Emily Rose & The Rounders “Too Much Too”

The new video from Emily Rose & The Rounders is an excellent cinematic visual that has been artfully directed and edited by Christopher Slater, who also supplied the Super 8 Footage.  He showcases the band at work, displaying their considerable talents. In particular, pedal steel player Olaf Selland delivers a captivating performance with his swooning, sliding notes.  Emily Rose Epstein has a perfect voice for country music and her lilting melodies bring to mind legendary artists like Patsy Cline.  “Too Much Too” is a great example of the group’s classic sound – engaging, tuneful and well-crafted.

Rose says of “Too Much Too”: “The new song is actually a kind of old song that we’ve been playing for a while now, it’s about expectations not being met, wondering if you’re as good as someone thought you would be. Chris Slater, who also did our video for ‘Wildfire’ a few years ago took the song and ran with it, taking the themes into the world of Paris, TX and putting us right smack in the middle of the forlorn landscape of the classic film.”

The LA-based country band has performed with the likes of Orville Peck and Shannon and the Clams.  Rose is also touring member of Peck’s band and will be supporting him on his upcoming tour.  If you want to hear more of Emily Rose & The Rounders’ take on the classic country sound, then check out their self-titled debut album from 2022.  Enjoy.
