Black Deer Festival which takes place in Kent towards the end of June has announced some new additions to the already impressive line up that includes top-three finalist on E! Entertainment Television’s ‘The Entertainer’ Sarah Darling along with Jess and The Bandits, Robert Vincent, Steak, O&O, Noble Jacks, Jay Scott, Ilona, Tally Spear and Katy Hurt.
Some of the names pertinent to an americana audience include Jess and The Bandits who won Best Video at the British Country Music Awards for their mischievous ‘My Name Is Trouble’, our very own (to these parts) americana star Rob Vincent who Bob Harris hails as ‘the real deal’ with his melancholic fusion of country and blues. Jay Scott is one to watch out for as he delivers his personal blend of indie and americana, which caught the attention of both Sony and Warner Music respectively recently, and acoustic singer-songwriter 22 years old Tally Spear takes inspiration from musical icons such as Bob Dylan and Neil Young, allowing her to create folk-pop stories from her time in London’s Greenwich Village.
Black Deer takes place from June 22nd-24th and already features a line-up which includes Iron & Wine. Passenger and a UK festival exclusive appearance from Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit. Which is about the amount I intend to drink over the weekend. Head to their site for more information.
