Video Premiere: Nathan Jacques “Sanctuary Light”

The latest single from Nathan Jacques, ‘Sanctuary Light’, is melodically captivating and visually adventurous.  The Western troubadour delivers an excellent vocal performance, displaying his range and ear for a fine tune over stirring guitar, soaring backing vocals and pounding drums.  ‘Experience loss, love and redemption’ appears on screen as Jacques, playing ‘The Dark Wanderer’, runs from Edward Troy as ‘The Revenant Man’.

Jacques explains the song’s key themes: “When all hope seems to be but a flickering light, we turn to those we love for guidance and support. This song is about embracing that love and letting it light the way in a place of absolute darkness. These themes are portrayed quite literally in the context of this story as Dark Wanderer embarks on his quest through the pitch-black desert underworld.”

The video for ‘Sanctuary Light’, directed by Christopher Macken, is one of the most memorable of the year so far.  Its concept is brilliantly realised with atmospheric lighting, creative set design and stunning visual effects contributing to an absorbing and artful piece of fantastical, Western cinema.

This is the first single from Jacques forthcoming album ‘Dark Wanderer and the Bounty Heart’.  Acting as a sequel to Jacques’ debut album, ‘Loud Mind’, the new record was largely recorded at the legendary East West Studios in Hollywood with Producer and Engineer Ed Donnelly.  It’s a concept album that serves as a full-length musical companion to the video for ‘Sanctuary Light’, itself like a trailer for a ‘lost singing cowboy movie.’  If that sounds brilliant, it’s because it is.  Enjoy.
